  • Always buy a helmet which has strong outer shell & thick inner foam.
  • The outer layer is made up of fiberglass, polycarbonate plastic, carbon fiber or kevlar. (OUTER LAYER KNOWN OUTER SHELL)
  • The inner layer is made from EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) foam. (INNER LAYER KNOWN AS INNER SHELL)
  • The work of the outer layer is to protect your head from sharp objects (which can penetrate into your skull)
  • The work of Inner Foam is  to convert crash energy to another energy (CRASH ENERGY CANNOT BE ABSORBED ONLY CAN BE CONVERTED ). Inner shell slow down head after 
  • Prefer a helmet which has thick inner foam. More Thick means it will absorb more force by increasing contact time between your head & external force. (more contact time means better for your safety)  
  • Choose a helmet that provides additional protections & features like face shield, ear protection, proper ventilation etc. 
  • Carbon fiber helmet is lighter & stronger than fiberglass helmet. It also scratch & cracks resistance. 
  • Certificate of a helmet says everything about it. SNELL, DOT, ECE 22.05, ISI  etc. are best certificates. If a helmet approved by these 3 then you should prefer it. 
  • Never go for a cheap helmet. Because helmet materials are not cheap. If you become  able to get a cheap helmet then it can  cheat you at the right moment ( LIFE IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN MONEY)

    1. Outer shell protect your head from sharp and hard objects during accident.
    2. But inner shell protects your brain from injury. (brain injury can cause death)
    3. Helmet comes in 2 size 580mm (58cm) or 600mm (60cm) [ BOTH FALL IN "L" CATEGORY]
    4. Many manufacturers provide  high density & low density   foam in helmet. (good for your safety)
    5. Thick or stiff  inner shell is good against a major fatal accident 
    6. Thin or soft inner shell is good against minor accidents.
    7. Never use same helmet after major accident or multiple minor accident.
    8. Never buy any second hand helmet Never use others helmet (because you don't know if it is new helmet or second hand)
    9. New helmets may feel tight at first but it will adjust with your head after few days.
    10. Never buy loose helmet & never forget to tie the lace of the helmet to your neck.
    11. Loose helmet & loosely tied lace may cheat you when you really need them.

    1. HOW TO DETERMINE HEAD SHAPE  FOR MOTORCYCLE HELMET?

    • Normal people has head size 580mm.(580mm is the standard helmet size) If you think your head is bigger than normal people then you should choose 600mm.
    • MEASURE YOUR HEAD SIZE ....bring a lace & measure your head size just above your EYE BROW. .
    • After measuring your head size measure your head size (the lace you used to measure head size) with a scale. (you can use your mobile diagonally to measure // 1 inch= 2.54cm // 1cm=100mm)
